Hexacolor is a small, lightweight & basic desktop color picker for Windows, it allows the user to quickly get a color from the current screen or convert from Hex to RGB and vice versa
I personally used Hexacolor for 2-3 years now and i didn't use any other ones, however, this is because of me not needing a complex color picker most of the time. Hexacolor is usefull when trying to work with non-translucent colors, this is because of the lack of transparency control, which is one of the apps biggest disadvantage
Hexacolor can be quite usefull when doing some Web Designing, you can click the pin icon in the application to make it always on top. (i've used it for both of the stylish themes i've completed), doing Pixel Art with this is also quite fun (especially when using the 216 color palette), however, most of the picture editors have better color management menus, allowing to control the transparency of the selected color, which Hexacolor cannot do
Advantages:
- You can still download the software for free on the website, the application will actually never tell you to license it, there isn't a menu to put a license in anyway lol
- Lightweight
- Compatible with older versions of Windows
- Simple GUI
- Can round the color up to match with the 216 Web Color palette in the application
- Tri-Lingual (3 languages available (English, French, Dutch))
Disadvantages:
- "Paid" software (its more like a donationware since the free version doesn't say anything about licensing the app)
- Lack of transparency control
- Uses the Built-in color picker
