I honestly can't tell if this is satire or not. Good laugh though.

Surely there's someone crazy enough out there to pull this off.

It actually isn’t very difficult. You just need to start a conversation with a homeless man, like I did. I am currently in the phase of talking to him, and was buying him meals in restaurants until this novel coronavirus. So now we sometimes order fast food and sit on a bench to eat and talk. I will not be revealing his identity, as I am eventually going to steal it, but he has no criminal history, two family members alive who are far away, and has been a big drug user for some time. He has never made it to high school and has only completed elementary school, and his last photo ID he had was a school ID picture of him as a little kid. I doubt he has any other photo ID in the system, which could work out perfectly.

Well, if a homeless man suddenly goes missing, it isn’t like the police are going to care or vigorously investigate (the homeless man is already off the grid). My current homeless friend lives at homeless shelters (sometimes sleeps on the streets when he is high), and is well known there, but if he suddenly stopped showing up, people may just assume he fucked off somewhere else.

So, if you think his death through very well, you should be fine.

Well, if you pull it off good and think it through I doubt you would get caught. The clerks at the government offices would likely help you get an identification card and maybe a copy of his birth certificate. If the homeless man is around your age and all that, they can’t really prove you are not who you say you are.
