ROM Toolbox is great I use it because it has loots of usefull features in one app and I don't need to install loots of apps.
It actually has lots of usefull stuff.

I use Syncthing for syncing files between my phone and server.

K-9 Mail is a great email app that supports encryption

Titanium backup makes dayly backups of my phone

Connectbot is an SSH client

Thanks for elaborating on each app.

As opposed to online documentation, I like to read It from someone who's experienced It first-hand- In this case being yourself.
I'll certainly look Into these.
