I won't bother you but religion book are the trust way to live with them, They light your way and showing you the true way to live in this life.
Just see While you were sick, you saw the doctor, If this doctor asked you not to drink cold water, If you accepted it this won't means you aren't living for yourself but this means you chose the true way to live.
