You're right Luka. We also don't know whether the samples have limited external validity as there may be differences between the types of people who go on internet dating sites, and those who don't. Also, this is on valid to online dating IF the reliability is good and the way in which the study was valid without results being too interfered with by other factors. How do we know for sure men/women didn't pick black women purely on the basis of appearance? How do we know there aren't social and cultural influences involved? We don't. It's a study about opinions, which is rarely as simple as it seems.

Fair point, but attractiveness in online dating is usually heavily based on appearance, in terms of whether you decide to approach someone or not.
In general, I think you're right though, there's more to attractiveness than appearance alone.
