Multitasking Is the biggest Ram killer. On my 4GB lappy, I once (literally) had over 60 tabs open In FF and due to the nature of the websites, my Ram dropped to 200MB (available) and was struggling to even open MS Paint. There's absolutely no harm In having an overkill of physically Installed memory. If It's affordable, simply do It.
