Cure is defined by relieving a person or animal of the symptoms of the diseases. That is how the general public define it, hence why I said it depends on how you define it.  You commented that "you can't get rid of it". That specifically means you cannot "cure it" just in other words. Pills should only be used as a last resort, if there are no other ways. This is because pills aren't a natural source of the temporary "cure" and it is temporary at best. (At least that is what most people have come to think these days, me included.) Though as I said, if you define "cured" as being able to live with your weaknesses, then you can effectively "cure" a mental illness. As every human has drawbacks mentally, to some degree.
