I chose Team Valor because I didn't give a shit about Team Instinct and their pitch about eggs and I prefer Red over Blue. Red was my first Pokemon game.

This seems oddly similar to Ingress' faction setup. I'd likely pick Valor, although I do like Articuno more than Moltres.
