Harm Reduction, Psychedelics, and You 06-16-2016, 08:45 AM

Psychedelics, drugs which the likes of Aldous Huxley, The Beatles, and Steve Jobs have all touched. Crazy shit, dude. And you've decided to take the plunge and go on your own trip....here's a few things to know.
The Most Important Things To Keep In Mind (TL;DR):
#1: Test your stuff. It's only ~$2 per test, and it can mean the difference between having LSD or some other substance which can be life-threatening. http://www.amazon.com/NIK-Drug-Test-Kit-...002ATUECS/ Getting the right source is the #1 issue with LSD. It's also good to do for other substances like MDMA, etc, but LSD is by far the biggest offender in this area.
#2: Tell at least one friend that you appreciate them, and you would feel very comforted if they read/follow a guide on tripsitting. Ask them if they'd be happy to tripsit. Especially important if you're inexperienced or trying a new dosage level for the first time (1.5 tabs is not the same as 1 tab!).
#3: Be aware of dosage. Different sources for LSD can have very different strengths. Especially take note if you're used to getting street LSD and then you switch to dark net market LSD. The dark net tabs tend to be much higher quality.

Before we get into the bulk of the guide, lets dispel some Psychedelic Myths.
Will I see Pink Unicorns and Elephants that otherwise aren't there?
HELL no. Psychedelia and Hallucinating are two extremely different things. One can be quite enjoyable and intriguing (psychedelia), the other can be extremely dangerous, terrifying, painful, and scary (hallucinations). If you want a break down of the visual effects, PsychonautWiki has a really huge post on this here: https://psychonautwiki.org/wiki/Visual_e...simplistic
Psychedelics are Addictive:
Psychedelics are proven not to be physically addictive whatsoever. Just like with other things, however, they can be 'mentally' addictive. If you start using psychedelics to escape your current reality, for instance, then this is not proper use of the substance. In my opinion, psychedelics should be used as a tool, not anything else. Like Alan Watts said "If you get the message, hang up the phone".
My cousin's brother told me his cousin's uncles' grandfathers brother tried acid once went crazy and jumped from his 10032th story window. I don't want to go crazy, is this going to happen?
Absolutely NOT . Stories like this are rare and most of the time can be even fabricated. It's important to be aware of the risks and safety tips BEFORE your trip. If you are well prepared and follow the tips, tricks, and advice in this guide you should be well on your way to having a safe mind-bending trip.
PREP: What to do before you're trip
Things to have/do:
Testing
It's of utmost importance to test whatever you have. I cannot stress this enough.
For LSD, I recommend this test kit here: https://www.amazon.com/NIK-Drug-Test-Kit...entries*=0
For MDMA or other substances, Erlich or Marquis regeant test kits are also readily available many places online
It is not uncommon at all for someone to tell you something is LSD but it is not. In fact, they may not even know what it is. This is the highest risk of doing LSD. There are literally dozens of other substances LSD could be.
Dark web vendors have reviews which help ensure what you get is LSD
Set and Setting
Set: a range of psychological factors which may effect your trip
These are all things which may effect your experience. It's important to create a positive set before your trip, and maintain it during the trip.
Setting:
Physical Enviroment: Inside/Outside? This ones pretty self-explanatory. Many agree that tripping outside in nature grants a much better and more high-quality trip, and I recommend going out in nature myself.
Social Enviroment: The people you're with and support they provide. Be in the presence of close friends whom you trust and love.
Dosage
I summarize this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/LSD/comments/2h...0ug1500ug/ up to 150 mics. Go look at the thread, there is a lot of great info.
LSD:
10-25mics - Microdose. Slight Euphoria and Body High
30mics - Threshold
40 mics -> Feeling it, but no visuals
60 mics -> a low quality blotter. "Under Water Feeling". Lights are brighter, colors enhanced, some after images and trails. This is a fun time, but not exactly tripping. About == to a gram of shrooms
90 mics -> Bright colors, surfaces moving, confused or extra wandering thoughts. Distracted thought patterns. Your brain 'speeds up'
110 mics -> A typical high-quality tab. visuals much more obvious. Many varying patterns on the walls, and closed eye visuals are crazy
150 -> If you get this on a tab off the street it's a unicorn. This is a dosage people try to get to get acquanted with L's effects
For Shrooms, use this calculator: https://www.shroomery.org/6257/Magic-Mus...Calculator
Now What?
So you got all this down, now what? If you read through all this and take the proper safety measures, you should be well on your way to a great trip. Here are some general tips:

PREP: What to do before you're trip
Things to have/do:
- Thick, warm, comfortable blanket
- Have a Playlist set aside with some chill music, or music that you absolutely love. Not only does it sound amazing, but it keeps your mind in check.
- Choose a Location deliberately. Trip somewhere you feel comfortable, protected, and empowered. If you don't know what that place may be, maybe it's better not to trip.
- Set aside time. it's important to have zero obligations all day, and preferably the next as well.
- Trip only with people you love, accept, and whom you trust..
- If you are inexperienced, have a tripsitter that knows you and who has experience with these substances beforehand.
- Call your family. During your trip, you may feel like those people who you love are really, really far away. Call them beforehand just to make sure everything is OK.

Set and Setting
Set: a range of psychological factors which may effect your trip
- past life/drug experience
Previous experiences might effect future ones. A bad LSD trip may induce anxiety for the next trip
- Current Mind state and Moode
- Expectations for the Experience
- Perception of risk associated with Experience
These are all things which may effect your experience. It's important to create a positive set before your trip, and maintain it during the trip.

So you got all this down, now what? If you read through all this and take the proper safety measures, you should be well on your way to a great trip. Here are some general tips:
General Tips
- Set an intention. You can just go at it w/o anything in specific in mind, but I like to try to focus on something and explore it. IE: "What part of you would you like to explore this time?"
- Have water handy. This can really be a god-send
- Bring some healthy snacks. Preferably not anything super-crunchy, though.
- Look at some art. You won't regret it.
- Spend some time with your pets. Crazy how much connection you feel with an animal.
- Try camping
- Just let go and go with the flow. Let the psychedelic take you where it wants to take you.
Things NOT to do
- Don't trip with people you don't know
- Don't Mix Drugs
- Don't watch horror movies...
- Drive, or operate any heavy machinery
