Just been watching it on the news: Looks like some info is now starting to come out. The attacker worked for G4S (a UK based security firm) and was able to access guns through them. From what's been said, it looks like insufficient background checks were made. He got a gun despite the fact he was on FBI radar. To me that just shows how the background checks don't work unless done properly.
