On my windows Machine thats used for gaming pritty much only at this point I have Malwarebytes and BitDefender. I run a scan every week and I also run ccleaner every 3 or so weeks to clean out junk.

Registry cleaners like ccleaner can actually damage your system. The registry is a database of settings, for programs and windows itself. Registry cleaners can remove critical entries that are needed for your operating system to function properly.

Here's an excerpt from the malwarebytes blog:

You should not have to optimize, defragment, organize, streamline, clean, compress, fold, knit, wash, or color code your registry. Ever. Period. Nada. Zilch. The potential performance enhancements resulting in the use of these programs are at best miniscule and unperceivable. At worst, they could damage your computer so badly as to require a re-installation of the operating system.

If you need to remove old or outdated registry entries that are potentially left behind from uninstalled programs, its best to do it yourself, or if you don't know what you are doing, not at all.
