RE: $1-1.5k Budget, Some Parts Already #6
That build is Epic AF Already. That case is sick. There's a few things I would do, depending on what you want to use the computer for:
That MOBO, CPU, and RAM is already great. Nothing really needed here imo.
I would switch out the graphics card with a Nvidia 980TI, and preorder the oculus rift.

If you don't want to dish out 600$ on Virtual Reality, I would still get the 980TI, but deck out my desk with a nice (maybe even two) 1440p monitor .

Switching out the MOBO, RAM, and CPU might seem like a good idea, but you're not going to see much performance improvement. Stuff in the graphics space like Video Games tend to become more intensive faster than other things you would use on the desktop. Unless you're video editing or compiling code that requires 64gb+ of RAM, then that's a different story.

Not that the Nvidia 680 is a bad card by any means. It can pretty much play any game out right now. But comparatively I don't really see what else I would upgrade in the machine.

You could, ofc, get another 680Ti. If you do that, however, you may be blocking yourself on future use of VR. As of now, I don't think VR has much support for SLI configurations, and a single 680 may not be enough.
