Some old United Boker Germany knife my dad gave me a while ago.
No clue what the technical specs are but the grip is some kind of boneish material that works perfectly and god damn, can this thing hold an edge.
There was so many of those knives mass produced now days its hard to tell them apart from genuine old ones unless you look for actual aging, date, etc.
If that is modern it is most likely staglon which is pretty much plastic handles.
Taylor Brands which owns Schrade, Uncle Henry, Old Timer, Imperial, etc makes similar knives under the Uncle Henry name.
They are absolutely nothing like they used to be if you get a genuine 1800s to 1900s pocket knife keep it, use it and never get rid of it. The steels have changed, the quality is not as good.
It is sad but true, nobody makes things as strong, good and reliable as they use to back in the olden days. Everything was forged and hand made.
Now days its milled, lazer cut, etc which sure it gives it a more precision grind but it just takes the heart and soul away from the product.
