Well I ended up giving my Schrade SCHF36 away and ended up getting another one because I liked it so much so I did the process over.

1. Stripped with Klean Strip and Rinsed
2. Sanded imperfections/left over coating
3. Cleaned the blade with a SOS pad
4. Did a Patina with yellow mustard dabbed on with paper towel
5. Rinsed and scrubbed with a sponge then soaked it in veggie oil for a few minutes

I really like it and the fact that this knife is only $35 shipped made almost a quarter inch thick with 1095 HC Steel is amazing it will be almost impossible to break this knife under normal use conditions and even beating the crap out of it and breaking it would be hard.
