Since you have mentioned Learning AI, I think its a great idea. I am myself being a computer science student at present I know how important it is. If IT folks are being focus then I would suggest them to learn about Neural Networks and Machine Learning. The concepts regarding the perceptron, hyperplane are great. But the things most people won't understand and they wont take the pain to even use Google. Even hackers must know and learn about ML (Machine Learning), and as far I know there is even a book named "ML for Hackers".

Whatever there is a nice paper on ANN (Artificial Neural Networks) by @Deque , it will just give you an introduction. The real techniques are how to apply them into research and develop new technology.

I hope I didn't said anything wrong and even if I did please pardon me, I am still an undergrad student.
