You should be good at math if you want to write optimized code, but to be a programmer, it's not required, assuming you at least know how to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Game programming uses lots of math because in order to simulate realistic environment effects, you need to do quite a bit of linear algebra. Math skills are beneficial however.
