That is a fake thanks, I'm much happier with true thanks than required thanks, and on forums with that normally it gets a mess because I must thanks before I see the content, and if it doesn't deserve a thanks? What you can as is to people be polite...

You would not have to thank anything, just post on the thread.
If I share something and get over 100 downloads and only one post I think I deserve a few replies.
