What's the point of making a thread with the same purpose as the whole section it is in?

If somebody has a problem with Android, he can make a thread of his own and resolve it in that thread, it makes things much more organized, allows easier searching, both generally on the forums and also within the thread, as all the posts are related to the same problem, instead of multiple problems mixed in the same thread.
