if im not mistaken some south american country just banned monstanto too. good for them.
@deranarchist - from what i know its not really about health its about law. im using the wrong words here but think copyright/trademarks/lawsuits.
this is totally oversimplified but for example, lets say there are two fields next to each other. one is a monsanto one is not. the monsanto crop cross pollinates with the non GMO crop. monsanto then sues the non-GMO crop owner for using a proprietary product they don't have the licence to use.

the cross pollinated crops don't prodce
-or-
due to local laws being changed by monsanto, the imf, and the world bank governments have forced farmers to use GMO seeds and the seeds don't produce crops and they fail
there are a ton of articles on how monsanto has screwed up india in more ways than one.
