Synopsis:
A near future, where humans have been defeated by the viral parasites named Gastrea. They have been exiled into a small territory and live in despair, side-by-side in terror. Rentaro, a boy living near Tokyo and member of the "Civil Security"âan organization specializing in fighting against the Gastreaâis used to accomplishing dangerous tasks. His partner is Enju, a precocious young girl. They fight thanks to their peculiar powers until one day, when they receive a special assignment from the government. This top secret mission is to prevent the destruction of Tokyo.
Plot:
In the year 2021, mankind was defeated by Gastrea, a parasitical virus, and is forced to live within a wall made of Varanium Monoliths, a metal that is able to subdue Gastrea. Soon, the "Cursed Children", children born with the Gastrea virus who are able to control itâwhich gives them superhuman abilitiesâwere discovered. Due to the Gastrea virus' intervention, the Cursed Children could only be female. Civil Securities are formed to specialize in fighting against Gastrea, operating with the pair of an Initiator, who are cursed children, and a Promoter, serving to lead the cursed children. Ten years after the war, RentarÅ Satomi, a high school student who is also a Promoter in his childhood friend Kisara TendÅ's TendÅ Civil Security, along with his Initator Enju Aihara, receives a secret mission to prevent the Tokyo Area's destruction.

Art/Animation:
The animation (by Kinema Citrus) is well done. Not much CG, mostly on the Gastrea and on large battles. Very fresh and original way to animate, modern yet has roots in older animations. Good work by Kinema Citrus studios.
Overall:
Overall, I would give Black Bullet a 8.5/10. Definitely one of the better animes out there. Great watch. Its only 13 episodes long, just watch it.
