One says that Socially people want to be accepted - not a crime but when people suppress their responses etc to fit in, it's looked down upon. However, I think it's human nature.... It's up to you to decide how you want to behave. You know, I feel like if this were the case I would be a bit more forgiving. When I was watching the movie on Netflix, one critic of the Occupy Wallstreet movement asked a protestor why the government should be paying off his student loans and it was interesting to watch this college student trip and stutter over a completely illogical response that concluded to: "it's my opinion."
This collaboration of research and analysis may be interesting for some people. http://aspsychologyblackpoolsixth.weebly...ience.html
It focuses on obedience to authority figures, but if you haven't heard of studies like Milgram's study... Then you may be shocked with the findings. xD
What I saw in this specific movement was an addiction, a social high. I believe that people LOVE to get high off of social situations and acceptance. We are taught that when we don't fit in we end up slitting our wrists, drinking bleach, hanging ourselves, or buying a shotgun and blowing our brains out. As you can imagine, this adds to the addictiong by throwing in pressure and anxiety.
So what do people do? They stop caring, they don't even repress their own beliefs they just don't even try. They stop listening to their teachers when they try to teach politics because its easier to listen to mommy or daddy or to say fuck it and go with the "Anonymous" anarchy flow. It makes me sick because there is nothing I can do about it on my own.
