I was imagining that if I had a programmer dad, He would teach me all kinds of impressive stuff he knows and we would be really close to each other and spending quality time programming. Also it would be much fun being taught by your dad rather than reading through books or on the internet all by yourself.

It would give you an advantage if he made you start at a very young age, however if he doesn't then it would just be spoonfeeding just like in uni.
