I was imagining that if I had a programmer dad, He would teach me all kinds of impressive stuff he knows and we would be really close to each other and spending quality time programming. Also it would be much fun being taught by your dad rather than reading through books or on the internet all by yourself.

Depends on your learning style. My dad is awesome, but I can't learn anything from him, because I don't learn through instruction, I learn from doing things on my own. Or, for things like work and related, I learn through mimicry.
