Insurance is Mad in England, For someone who is 17 just past their driving test its about £4,500 to £6000 on a small 1L engine. Its rediculous, I mean I'm 18 now and on a 1.2 as a named driver its about 3.5k for me

Put it in your father's name and put yourself as the secondary driver and it's much cheaper.

Yeah i know that, It's my mums car and I'm a named driver, Meaning I can't build any no claims, costs me £600. But if I want to build any no claims, It will cost £3.5k+++
