I personally have had a HTC Evo Shift 4G for a year and a half, and haven't complained about it at all. Although, my case is cracked and all messed up.

I think I may possibly get the iPhone 5 after it gets cheap. Apple is infamous for being expensive.

You're mostly paying for the brand, and the ability to brag to your friends that you have an iPhone.

I don't do any of those, so to me it comes down to specs. My HTC Evo Shift has a short battery life for some reason, so that's what I look at a lot for phones.
