[Must see] Smudge Tutorial. #1
Head over to planetrenders.net or any site that supplies HQ renders and find a render of your liking, it should be colourful
and have some action/flow going on.
Make a new Photoshop of your size, I'm using 500x160px. Make a black layer and paste your render, getting rid of any white
or black bits around the edge. Place the render using Rule of Thirds and an apropiate size.

The render may be sharp at the edges where you've got rid of the black bits but we can sort that later.
Duplicate the render 4 times. Put the bottom two layers to Linear Dodge (Add) and second and third top to Colour Dodge.
Set your smudge brush to the chalk number 60.
And these properties; Shape Dynamics: Size, Angle & Roundness Jitter 100%.
Scattering: Scatter 360% (Both Axes), Count: 3, Count Jitter: 100%.
Save as a preset and make change the Scatter to 105% then save as a different preset.
Start to smudge the bottom Linear Dodge with the first brush you made then the
second Colour Dodge.
After smudging bottom Colour Dodge and Linear Dodge (Add).

Now smudge the top Colour Dodge and Linear Dodge (Add) with the second brush
you made.
After smudging top Colour Dodge and Linear Dodge (Add)

Now make a new layer and we're going to add a gradient. Where the light is coming
from on the render is where the white of your gradient goes. Once happy with
your gradient set it to soft light.
Now make a new layer and fill black, set the opacity to zero and with a soft
brush, brush over where you want the render to be enhanced.
Set to Soft Light & 51% opacity.
Now add a photo filter of Sepia at 70% and set to 46% opacity.
Add a gradient map of b&w set to luminosity
Add another gradient map of purple to orange set to soft light & 55% opacity
Add another gradient map of blue to red to yellow set to 10% opacity
If needed, make a new layer and fill white, set to overlay and 27% opacity to brighten up the tag
[Image: 53GM8.jpg]
To enhance the render, duplicate the top one with no smudges twice.
Top render put to soft light
Second render add motion blur of 15 set to soft light and 52% opacity
Third render add gaussian blur of .3 and set to 59% opacity
[Image: 53GS9.png]
You can blur the edges of the top render to smooth the edges.
You can also add text, borders or C4D renders etc.

Thank you for reading my tutorial
