I've done this with a working login system for members of various access levels, permission features, user profiles, email and verification code authentication. I can't release the source however as it was for contracted work.
To me, this just looks like a skids toolbox once it gets a few submissions (if at all, based on the activity level within this thread since it was created). Why not a challenge that is to solve a specific problem instead?
You could've created a competition to see who could make the best forum backend, but IMO, I just see it as a trick used for a leeching attempt. Change this to something else.
