cool, HQ informations... very nice.
the registry can also be used to clean programm entrys, meaning... if you have installed a software which has ran out if trial, you may search the registry.
1. uninstall the software
2. windowsbutton + R -> regedit -> F3
then type in the software you want the system to "think" it was never be installed on your disk, delete the entrys and hit F3 again until it says ther is nothing more. but be careful and backup before -> trial will reset on the most programms, but not with every software out there.
but a restart is needed. search the registry again, if you cannot find anything its clean from the software you deleted.
sometimes you have to search for the producer-name of the software too.
3. reinstall the software
as mescaline said, programms made to "clean" the whole registry by automatic or similar, claiming to speed up the system... wont work in the most cases al they should. i tryed many of them from win 95 until win xp but the most programms damaged the registry or slowed the system down in the end.
