Would have to be a location where you can really sink into the location. Live and breath it.

What do you mean by sink into the location? Do you just mean somewhere really culturally different from where you're from?

As in spending a lot of time there, living in a similar way to the locals as opposed to being a tourist.

Nothing wrong with being a tourist but if I was travelling to that area I'd want to enjoy the complete culture shock, oh and the woman.
