I have an external CD/DVD player from Samsung so I can run CDs on modern laptops.

At least 20 years, if stored properly and not used all the time.

It won't replace newer usb devices, but, 125 terabytes is quite an achievement. Can be use to store all type of large content.
Let's see if is only CDR or CDRW and fully compatible with older CD players.
