Members with shorteners that direct to a number of redirections, do It for monetizing purposes and remain firm with It - they will not change to a service that does not pay for their contributions. Others that contribute direct links Is perfectly fine, hence there's no purpose using this board's link shoretener service. I like the suggestion, but I don't see how It will benefit when It's not a mandatory requirement for members to use It.
I will gladly stand corrected If members outline Its perks to the contrary of what I've stated above.
I see and I understand.
My goal was to achieve a method to know how many times a link in my post was clicked, without having to use third party sites or services.
Since I do not monetize links, and I can essentially shorten any link no matter the size by simply doing this, there is currently no way for me to know.
Nb. That link goes to llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.co.uk
I have searched the internet, and found lots of answers, but none that are viable without the use of third party apps or services.
I suppose in the end I too will have to resort to a third party.
Thank you for taking the time with my suggestion.
As per your opening comment (below), my understanding was that your suggestion with Implementing the link shortener Is mandatory among users, namely "that must be used when posting or creating threads". That's what my previous post Is based on - members must use the service.
