Paris is planning to renovate and clean the Seine river so that it can be used for bathing and swimming during the upcoming 2024 Olympics. The organizers have announced that they will be replacing the opening ceremony that took place in the traditional stadium with a grand ceremony to be held on the Seine. According to media reports, boats that will carry officials and athletes from more than 200 countries will sail along the river. Besides, Paris also intends to bring the swimming competition held in the Seine during the 1900 Olympics to the closing ceremony of the 2024 Olympics.
