If it results in less censorship and freer speech, I'd argue that's a win for everyone. Whether that's his true intention is a separate matter.

When was Twitter ever known for its censorship?  Can't you post literal porn on Twitter with no consequence lol?  I remember Trump and a bunch of bigots felt "targeted" but that's the only example I can think of.

Ask someone with a different political opinion about this. Twitter 100% censors opposing political  opinions.

Edit: Did some quick googleing and found that Elon Musk says he wants free speech, but his track record suggests otherwise and that Twitter’s research shows that its algorithm favors conservative views
So who's making these claims exactly? 

It's algorithm does not favor right leaning politics. How many left leaning twitter users do you know that were banned from twitter due to political ideology?

Regardless of ideology, it is suspicious that anyone would advocate for less freedom of speech. As things stand currently, people are often banned for tweets that are otherwise legal. The fact we're even discussing which ideology is being favored, is example enough. Ignoring American politics for a second, does anyone really want Twitter to have control over any form of political discourse?
