From a business standpoint to Increase promotion and productivity, social media Is a very effective gateway.

but it would be amazing if schools taught kids more about how it works, the algorithms, and impact on your mindset (not just in terms of mental health, but how it shapes your views of news and other people). I do believe the parent generation and older is perhaps a little too set in their ways to take than information on at any kind of collective, or en masse type of way.

It also comes down to schools and parents being Ill-Informed of how social media operates as a whole, and the Impact It can have on others.

This is a very good point. Teachers aren't necessarily well equipped as they may be just as ill-informed or simply not know about social media.

I do recall my schools teaching us to be "media smart" which was more focused on TV news and newspapers, but I've found it very much applies to social media as well. However, I know this kind of teaching was a rarity, and not a norm.
