From a business standpoint to Increase promotion and productivity, social media Is a very effective gateway.

This is a very good point. Teachers aren't necessarily well equipped as they may be just as ill-informed or simply not know about social media.
I do recall my schools teaching us to be "media smart" which was more focused on TV news and newspapers, but I've found it very much applies to social media as well. However, I know this kind of teaching was a rarity, and not a norm.
