Other platforms offer far better instant gratification, and ways to promote their own content without paying money. Facebook has nothing to compete with that. Also, younger audiences have been watching their parents use Facebook, so it's not exactly "cool" anymore. Equally the 25-60 year old's using it, are more likely to hear the news and controversies surrounding it, and equally less likely to be all that intrigued by the Metaverse (or even understand it). Of course there are exceptions and what I say is an overgeneralisation, but I can think of a least a dozen people I know personally, that this applies to.In a nutshell, I don't believe anyone could've explained It much better than that.
As you're aware, I've never been a fan of social media and anything anti-Facebook, Is music to my ears.
I still recall that live questioning of Zuckerberg over that data incident with Cambridge Analytica was it?
I don't blame anyone who likes social media, hell I know people whose steady business exists because of it, but it would be amazing if schools taught kids more about how it works, the algorithms, and impact on your mindset (not just in terms of mental health, but how it shapes your views of news and other people). I do believe the parent generation and older is perhaps a little too set in their ways to take than information on at any kind of collective, or en masse type of way.
