I think the other side of it, is that there is little to no appeal for younger generations. Other platforms offer far better instant gratification, and ways to promote their own content without paying money. Facebook has nothing to compete with that. Also, younger audiences have been watching their parents use Facebook, so it's not exactly "cool" anymore. Equally the 25-60 year old's using it, are more likely to hear the news and controversies surrounding it, and equally less likely to be all that intrigued by the Metaverse (or even understand it). Of course there are exceptions and what I say is an overgeneralisation, but I can think of a least a dozen people I know personally, that this applies to.
