I wonder if the drivers enjoy the company too, as they're often on boring, long work journeys, you know?

They most certainly enjoy the company.

Many drivers at my work who travel Interstate, continue to ask me to be a passenger In their semi-trailer. It's a 20 hour journey (one way) so obviously, I kindly refuse.

20 hours!? I really don't envy the long journeys. Although, I think I'd take a driving journey over the high stress I get in my current job.
