"Let me just make a point about people being nice to each other"... Now let's watch the world make that point again.
He made jokes about every minority that special... but it's the ones about transgender people that got him in trouble. His comments about periods, giving birth, and Jenner are all crude but also true. If you're trans you can win "Woman of the Year" but you can't have a period or give birth. The problem with many of the Ts, is that they're trying to live outside of reality.
Comedy used to be an avenue for exploring humor, even if it was crass or offensive. If comedians no longer have freedom of speech, the next generation will be humorless. Chapelle talked a lot about his transgender friend Dorner, who later committed suicide. He talked about how she was "one hell of a woman", thick skinned with a great personality. Anyone that watched the special, knows it's targeting the easily offended.
