It's a choice that companies will need to make - abide by government regulations, or shut up shop and lose everything.
So do what the government says or close up? Should the employers be responsible for paying security and discriminating against the customers who aren’t vaccinated? Based on numbers, blacks are the highest number in unvaccinated by race. This would be another reason to discriminate towards people of color.

I don't think it's anyone's particular intention to discriminate against black people, or any minority group (the UK looks at BAME overall as the people affected, not just black people). The government is looking for a way to encourage people to get their vaccines as the US has massively fallen behind the rest of the western world on vaccines. They've obviously thought the best way to do this is to limit what people can or can't do, as a means of persuading them to give in.

Naturally, this is possibly one of the most stupid pieces of legislation I've seen from America in the last couple years (although the heartbeat abortion laws are worse, but that's another topic for another day). How they couldn't see this going tits up, I will never know. Noble intentions, moronic solution.

Do they really expect businesses to put themselves and their trade at risk to become the governments vaccine police force? I think not. If you complied, from a business perspective, your brand's reputation is at risk, your staff are heavily at risk of abuse and injury (let's face it, people have done worse for less provocation in this pandemic) and you may lose profits in a heartbeat. If trade will be affected long-term by complying anyway, it makes complete sense to take the risk of being shut-down in the hopes of retaining customer loyalty (better image for the brand).

That's just the business side of it. The morals side: It's just wrong to force a private company to do this. Especially if you're not willing to fund security and any damages to the business or staff.

There's also the issue that, actually, the most effective strategy for preventing virus spread, is social distancing is it not? Yes the vaccines make hell of a difference, but pissing people off will never convince them. It will only make them more firm in their anti-vaccine beliefs.

Tl;dr - Government needs to find a better way, or expect to fail.
