I wouldn't spend that amount, but I suppose It will pay Itself off by outlasting the purchase of plastic straws over many years.

Fair point, but It depends how many cans of soda you drink per day.

A few friends consume over 5 cans, thereby 10,000 straws would last a little over 5 years. In 10 years, the metal straw pays Itself off. It's not exactly an Ideal way of looking at It, but It Is what It Is.
