The code works but no matter what it still seems to ask for a name that was entered on purchase. Even if I typed out different names it still says: “Error, check the your email for the verification code”.

That's weird. Did you try restarting your computer after editing your hosts file? Also, what version of the installer are you using?

I restarted still didn't work. I am using version v5.84, I believe that was the latest one.

Try version 5.83.9050. That was the version that was used in the tutorial I watched.
