It's a very tragic situation and a horrendous crime by Chris Chan, though may not be knowingly. Due to his medical condition, there is a possibility that he could be pardoned or maybe given some minor punishment or even shifted to home. His mother with Dementia is rightly shifted to hospital and needs to be under their care. It will difficult situation for law enforcement and lawyers fighting this case.
