This does feel like it's over a year too late? Surely any evidence, if there were any, would have been dealt with by now? Perhaps it's a "pretend to look like we're doing something" situation in light of the fairly weak intelligence that was released recently that merely stated some staff got ill. While it seems to coincidental not to be covid, the reports were also unbelievably vague.

Dany Shoham, a former Israeli military intelligence officer who has studied Chinese biological warfare, said the institute is linked to Beijing’s covert bio-weapons program."
