This does feel like it's over a year too late? Surely any evidence, if there were any, would have been dealt with by now? Perhaps it's a "pretend to look like we're doing something" situation in light of the fairly weak intelligence that was released recently that merely stated some staff got ill. While it seems to coincidental not to be covid, the reports were also unbelievably vague.

Suddenly the notion that the virus could have originated from Wuhan, isn't considered racially-charged, either.

Was it ?! I thought it was only viewed as conspiracy theories.
Although meanwhile scientists clearly didn't agree on any consensus about the origin of the virus

There was disdain for the terms "Kung Flu" or "Chinese Virus", originally. The terms were related to the origins of the virus, rather than people that were Chinese. Keep in mind, the influenza outbreak in 1918 was known as the Spanish Flu (and it didn't originate in Spain). WHO actually advised people not to label the virus, in fear of it being discriminatory. People should also have thicker skin.
