How to Unblock (Most) Websites on Chromebooks 02-26-2021, 09:28 PM

Since I get asked on a daily basis, I have decided to write a simple tutorial on how to bypass the filter on a School/Work Chromebook.
1: Go into your settings via the Chrome Browser by typing "chrome://settings/" or go through the menu.

2: Once in settings click "Privacy and Security" and then "Security"

3: Click "Manage Certificates"

4: Go to "Authorities"

5: Go to "org-Amazon", open it and click edit on one of the roots.

6. Uncheck all the permissions. Repeat this for all the roots under Amazon.

7: Scroll down to Starfield Technologies and repeat steps 5 and 6.

Now most websites should be unblocked. Note that this does make websites load much slower and some websites do not load at all, but this is a good trade-off for the very restrictive filters that some schools/employers have in place.
If you ever want to reverse this, just recheck all the permissions that you unchecked.
