Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 Being Remastered #1
Growing up, I'd played all of the Tony Hawk games (at least the ones Neversoft developed). The games were known for their excellent gameplay, maps, and soundtracks. Though I know very little of the new developer, it's awesome the games will be getting remastered. The remaster will include features from some of the more modern games (i.e. Online/Create a Skater). Save for 5 songs, the sound tracks will remain the same as well.

The remastered version will be coming on September 4th, 2020. The original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater was released in 1999, so this comes 20 years later.

Quote:The original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and its sequel were touchstones of the Y2K era. Alongside pop-culture hits like Jackass and CKY, the games precipitated a huge spike in the popularity of skateboarding in the United States, and spawned more than a dozen follow-up titles bearing Tony Hawk’s name. Twenty years later, both games are coming back, updated for modern platforms.

Vicarious Visions is developing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2, a single title that contains remastered versions of the classic games. It’s due out on September 4th, 2020, for PlayStation 4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One X and PC via the Epic Games Store.

The new title has modernized Create-A-Skater and Create-A-Park modes, HD graphics, and all of the levels, moves and pro skaters from the original games. That includes Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, Steve Caballero, Geoff Rowley, Andrew Reynolds, Elissa Steamer, Chad Muska, Eric Koston, Rodney Mullen, Rune Glifberg, Kareem Campbell, Jamie Thomas and Bob Burnquist. There’s also local and online multiplayer, plus new challenges, goals and secrets. Honestly, the only things missing are a few songs off of the iconic soundtrack.

After playing the originals and the new one, I would say it's an excellent remake. The aesthetic is really well done and many of the original maps are instantly recognizable. They improved on a lot of the features (i.e. Create-a-Skater), while respecting the integrity of the original titles. Would definitely recommend.

Remastered THPS 3/4 and THUG 1/2 would be awesome, too.

How is it playing the game on a computer? Are you using a controller or mouse and keyboard, I could only imaging using a m+k combo for that.

My previous experience was mostly N64/Gamecube, but Keyboard/Mouse is fairly pleasant.

Glad to hear, considering picking it up after I find how much I'm about to pay for my car
