Same.

My laptops (7 In total), are plugged In and powered up 24/7- only rebooted If they happen to freeze. Each battery Is running at Its optimal state.

It doesn't make sense does It?

I know that It's good practice to put the battery on charge when It's down to around 8-10% (just before It hibernates by default), but I don't see how It benefits by only charging to 60%.

I can assure you that your battery will be fine when constantly on charge.

My laptops are always plugged In- all day and all night for years, without any loss of battery capacity whatsoever.

I've experienced similar to yourself with one of my very old laptops.

It's 10 years old, and the battery only lasts around 30 minutes (at the most) without any Intensive tasks.

If you are very worried about it, just take the battery out and play to your hearts content and put it back in when your done.

You shouldnt need to worry about the battery unless you are doing something dumb like sitting the laptop on the bed or something. Unless its a cheap, shitty chinese battery without any protection, laptop batteries have control circuitry that will switch off the charging function when they are fully charged. There's no reason you would need to disconnect it.
