Need help with dissertation ideas

Hello, I'm going into my final year of a computer security course and need to come up with a dissertation idea. we've been told the project needs to be something tangible and there needs to be a deliverable at the end. I wanted to do something in the area of social engineering but need some ideas. Any help is appreciated

I was thinking along the lines of the overall security of the IoT. It can Include how devices connect, share/distribute data, how they're susceptible to vulnerabilities, best practice In protecting against exploitation and so forth.

I'm not sure if social engineering is classified under "tangible"? Unless it means something different from what I'm thinking. I also don't think it's a very "academic" discussion under computer security, I mean sure you can argue that it's very often used to breach a target but it's not very "concrete".

What have you learned from your course so far? Perhaps you can extend one of the topics that were taught. Or you could try and find a issue that currently exists and develop a proof-of-concept solution for it.

I ain't fucking being a cop. Shit technology. My original thought was being in the Navy as a sub marina warfare analyst. Pretty much picking up info if china was gonna bomb Australia and the likes but, I moved onto a more important job that I can specialize in.
