Suggest regard the NSP system #1
In my opinion you should gain NSP also when you either receive positive reputation or somebody adds a "thank you" on your post.

They are both behaviours that in some sense certificates that somebody has remain satisfied of your actions (thus are valuable for the community.).  Cool

Speaking of NSP, this acronyms stands for?

Just my humble opinion.

I've just corrected it, sorry for the mistake.

Perhaps not suited to the Like functionality.

I have over 7k Likes, which would be an excessive amount of NSP.

If the suggestion were approved, the system would work with the new rules from now on. Past actions might not be considered.

I would really like it if the NSP system is more widely used. A bit like the reddit's karma system. But also easier to lose, to minimize useless posts.

If they were to adopt the reddit karma system (although probably a bit hard to implement seeing as NewPoints plugin doesn't support this complex maths), this would minimize @mothered's problem. The more karma received from post likes, the harder it is to get.

As for the acronym, My vote goes to "oni tried to name the currency NPS, standing for NewPointS, but made a typo. But they decided to keep it because it sounded nicer"

I like some of these ideas. Although, we have a calculated amount of NSP awarded for threads/posts, which I believe are scaled with how much activity ought to have been earned in order to upgrade (ofc, donations and buying with real money are also options). I would like to see @Oni's thoughts on this.

NSP - New Sinisterly Points (Though I liked your idea! xD)

Our currency was actually reset some years back. It used to be (SP) Sinisterly Points. After the reset and the creation of a new currency system, NSP was born.

Was just going to add the explanation for the acronym but you beat me. I remember the old days of stacking up my SP to buy Elite.
