The sparkling wasn't ideal when we first added it, but now it's especially outdated. I wanted to make a thread to discuss the possibility of changing the username styling for upgraded members.

Webkit now allows for animation and other effects, which would suit our theme better. I'd be inclined to go with a glow, but am open to suggestions.

Primary options right now would be:

• Shadows
  
• Glows
  
• Borders

I'd aim for the animations to be secondary in nature, as they'll only work on webkit browsers (as far as I know).

it might be more complex on non-webkit browsers, but yeah,they should be secondary

I agree with the glow.

I've never been a fan of the sparkling effect. It may have been the In thing around a decade ago, but nowadays, It's certainly past Its prime.

Glows always has been the best on all forums so should be here too.

Not a fan of gradient and shadows, but I think a slight border would be okay.

The glows should be showing up now. Hopefully they're to everyone's liking, though I'm open to changing them. Staff and group styles might also change.

The glow definitely holds up right now. I feel like a gradient would give a lot more room for customization. If that's not too much work.

Some might notice, but there's been some optimization and loading speeds should be halved (if not better).

The plugin would need a rewrite for that. Glow seems more suited towards upgrades, though I might give staff a gradient.
